About the Image:
Although this image with lush green succulent plants nestled up against a burnt log could be found in many locations, this happened to be on “The Spit” in Homer, Alaska. I made this image, as I recall, during a year wherein about 7 million acres burnt up in forest fires in Alaska and Fairbanks, where we lived for 30+ years, was heavily invaded by smoke from near-by forrest fires much of that summer. We took a week break in Homer, 500 miles south and mainly walked the beach looking for seaside images and came upon this irresistible little scene. The image was made with a Canon Powershot Pro 1 camera.
