About The Image:
Annually in March, the “World Ice Art Championships” are staged in Fairbanks, Alaska. Ice carving teams come from around the world to create large, intricate ice sculptures from crystal-clear blocks of ice harvested from local ponds. The teams carve for 5 days, light their sculptures and get judged.
As spectacular as each entire individual sculpture is (some are over 20 feet high), I found my images inside the sculptures. I became intrigued with the abstract patterns of colored lights bouncing around within a single sculpture and with small portions of two or more sculptures shot at the same time in one photo. That’s what all my “Iced Light” fine-art photographs are about. Enjoy.
