About the Image:
Mount Foraker, at 17,400 feet tall, is the second tallest mountain in the Alaska Range and is about 13 or so miles from Mount McKinley in Denali National Park, Alaska. Mount McKinley at 20,320 feet is the tallest mountain in North America.
Just a year before we left Alaska after 30 years there, Kathy and I went on our final great adventure hiring a helicopter to get us and all our gear to Long Point in the Peter’s Hills. We had one good day out of seven to photograph and this is one of the images.
